Sprint’s latest innovation could provide CRE companies with instant IoT access

Wireless carrier Sprint recently announced the launch of its Sprint IoT (Internet of Things) Factory. The company believes its new online marketplace is a game-changer as it will provide businesses with a variety of complete, ready made boxed solutions that leverage IoT’s power to help them conduct their work more intelligently and be more competitive in their respective industries.
Currently more than 550,000 developers are already driving innovation on the platform, according to a company press release. The IoT Factory gives everyday businesses access to the latest technology so they can connect and automate what is most important to their unique operations.
“From family-owned restaurants, medical companies to heavy equipment fleet operators and everything in between, the Sprint IoT Factory is giving business owners the power to easily enhance operations – using IoT technology to track assets and connect what’s most important to them,” Sprint vice president, IoT said in a statement. “We’re excited about the effect this has on small and medium sized businesses. They can now attain the latest in advanced and secure technology at reasonable costs – with the ease of being able to buy a complete solution from the digital store, having it shipped quickly and installing it themselves within a matter of minutes. That truly drives business forward in an unprecedented manner.”
The Sprint IoT Factory comes to businesses ready for use in as little as two days and can be installed quickly. Information Technology (IT) expertise is not required to use the IoT Factory, according to Sprint. Users can simply visit the digital store and will find a wide range of IoT options: restaurants and food services could monitor food temperatures, commercial businesses can track their fleets and companies with facilities like a warehouse can monitor their property from anywhere.
Sprint teamed up with myDevices and The Goldie Group to deliver the Sprint IoT Factor. MyDevices, an IoT solutions company, provided the IoT in a Box™ solution. Meanwhile, leading telecom technology service provider The Goldie Group works as the fulfillment arm of the venture, enabling scalability for IoT.
While the trio sells directly to end customers through the Sprint IoT Factory, the companies can also enable channel partners, wholesalers, system integrators and others to buy solutions as resellers.
