Aquicore Launches Self-Installing IoT Hardware for CRE Smart Asset Management Platform

Aquicore, a leading CRE IoT-driven smart asset management platform, recently announced the launch of its new self-installing Internet of Things (IoT) hardware, according to a company release. The company’s patented devices, Aquicore Hub and the Aquicore Bridge, make its faster and easier for executives, managers and building teams to complete Aquicore’s installation process, which saves companies time, money and resources.
Aquicore devices compile data from utility meters, submeters and building equipment in real time. The platform can then take that data to analyze, track and predict key performance metrics such as energy and water use, air quality and budgets. Equipped with these high-resolution views into the building processes, asset and property managers can make faster and more informed decisions that can bring down operating costs, increase energy efficiency and improve asset value.
Aquicore Hub serves as the heart of the platform’s hardware. It is a central unit and Internet gateway for uploading building data to the cloud in a secure manner. Meanwhile, the Aquicore Bridge extends the Hub’s range by virtually connecting to any building meter, equipment or sensor via a mesh network that can be extended to cover an entire building.
Both devices, which use encrypted 4G communications to keep customer data secure, are designed to guide on-site staff through a 30-minute installation and commissioning process, which eliminates the need to hire contractors. Aquicore’s self-installable IoT devices allow buildings to be operational within days, rather than months.

Aquicore has more than 1,000 installations nationwide and services more than 600 commercial buildings owned or managed by 80 institutional clients. Boston Properties, one of the largest owners, managers and developers of office properties in the U.S. recently used Aquicore’s self-install process to bring John Hancock Tower in Boston online.
The building’s 60 floors and 2 million square feet of commercial space were up and running on the company’s platform collecting data in real time within two days of the contract being signed. In a similar transaction, real estate operator and investment manager Normandy Real Estate Partners installed Aquicore’s IoT hardware in 19 buildings in just five days.
