Comba’s Patrick Lau Elected Vice President to SBC’s Board of Directors

Comba’s Patrick Lau elected Vice President to SBC’s Board of Directors. Global wireless solutions provider Comba Telcom, Inc. recently announced the Members of the Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC) elected Telecom’s Patrick Lau as Vice President to its Board of Directors.
The SBC is a non-profit organization that focuses on advancing polices and ideas that result in more buildings being served with commercial and public safety wireless coverage.
Established in 2012, the SBC also provides advocacy and education related to in-building communication issues and brings awareness to solutions that will enhance indoor communications capabilities for the general public and public-safety first responders.
Lau’s term will be three years—he’ll serve as Vice President the first year, then President and finally Immediate Past President in the final year. The SBCs’s Board of Directors plays a key role in guiding the organization to achieve its overall goals and initiatives.
The board also works closely with the FCC, FirstNet™, SBC’s member companies and working groups to develop and conduct extensive trainings, review and comment on policies that relate to in-building fire protection, industry white papers and case studies along with other collateral that can push its advocacy forward.
“I’m excited and humbled to be elected as Vice President to the Safer Buildings Coalition Board of Directors,” said Lau, who serves as Comba Telecom’s Vice President of Strategic Development. “I look forward to continuing SBC’s commitment to education, awareness and continuous improvement of in-building public safety communications for first responders.”
“Safer Buildings Coalition is fortunate to have had Patrick’s guidance during the past year while he served as our At-Large Board Member”, said John Foley, General Manager for the Safer Buildings Coalition. “The Vice President, President, and Immediate Past President track for the SBC’s board of directors ensures stable continuity of leadership, critical to our mission.
By virtue of the election process, Patrick’s SBC peers have recognized his expertise and leadership qualities. We are enormously grateful for the commitment and support provided by Patrick and Comba.”
